The good:
- This shaver is relatively quiet.
- The cleaning/ charging system is very nice.

The bad:
- The price ($186.00). With a high price comes high expectations.
- The shave. On my face, the shave is no better than the shave I got from my Remington MS 280 (about $40.00). It didn't seem like the "pulsonic" feature helped at all. On my neck, there were spots that I just could not get. I tried shaving in all sorts of directions, but I just could not get all of my neck closely shaved. Generally, it was good enough, but if I wanted to get a really close shave on my neck, I had to bust out the Remington. I saved the best for last: This shaver pulled my hairs. Talk about frustrating and painful. This thing won't be pulling my hairs anymore since I smashed it against the sink in frustration ... embarrassing, I know. But, at least I won't be using this shaver anymore.

This razor gives me as close a shave as a mach3 but it is faster and costs less to operate. My last model lasted over 6 years and it is still a backup. Vortex wet/ dry are outstanding.I reserched a TON of electric razors as I did a few years ago. I had been using a Panasonic and LOVED my old razor, but it gave out on me. The reviews for this model were so good, I trusted them as I trusted the reviews that were accurate about my last panasonic. Unfortunately, this razor is TERRIBLE for my sensitive skin.

I'm a female, with pale skin and thick dark hair, and I suffer from folliculitis which means when I shave I get infected hair follicles. That's why I HAVE to use an electric razor. Well, this razor causes such awful ingrowns my legs have constant scabs because I need to dig the hairs out from underneath my skin. NOT GOOD!!!! I wish I knew why it caused ingrowns because I can't figure it out.

Also, reviews stated that the shave is such a close clean shave that you need one pass... uhh, not with my experience. I had to keep going back and forth over the same area about 4-5 times to get all the hair shaved.

So for me, wish to GOD I would not have bought this razor. It wasn't cheap and now I have to go looking for another one. : (

This was a replacement foil for Braun razor. Product transaction was smooth & prompt. Item came in unopened package & was exact replacement part. I would buy from this company again.If you've been reading any of the reviews here lately you will know the 8000 series foil/ cutterblock combo has been replaced with a new combo now called the series 5 Combi 51S. You will receive this replacement even if the picture on the product page shows "8000 series" as it has been discontinued for over a year. Braun merged the replacement for the 8000 series (Activator) with the 360 Complete. This new foil/ cutterblock is garbage! The cutterblock has wide blades, as opposed to the thinner blades of the original 8000 series, which pull your stubble and take MANY passes over your face to shave. They are prone to premature failure and I have gone through 3(THREE) of these in 6 months! (I bought one and two were free through Braun after complaining). All the free replacements in the world weren't making the shaving experience any better. I longed for the days when my Activator 8595 cut smooth, close, and comfortably. After all, this shaver had been my favorite for 6 years so far! I was very close to dumping the whole shaver and moving on when I happened across a reviewer on Amazon who suggested using the 7000 series replacement foil/ cutterblock in his review. It worked PERFECTLY! The 7000 series replacement looks just like the much coveted original on my 8595 Activator - down to the thinner cutting blades! It didn't pull my stubble, it cut smooth as butter, and was comfortable: JUST LIKE NEW! I'd like to thank the original reviewer (James L. Walls "sixtoe") for the very good advice.

This item is great for when you have that little bit of morning stubble. It takes absolutely everything off and leaves a nice smooth feeling. Cleaning is also easy, just rinse the entire head under running water while it is on and then remove cap and clean the row of razors with the small cleaning device that is attached on the bottom of it. The entire shaver is very cool and sleek, great design!

The only flaw is that if you wait too long to use this, and you get hairs that are more than 2mm long, that is where the shaver suffers. It will only get a little more than half of those longer hairs. You can use a regular razor for those hairs though and then go back to this shaver as they come back the next day.

There is also a small trimmer on the side of the shaver (see picture) that is great for cutting long hairs. It is so small though that I'm afraid I might break it when I try to force it out of the side and back in when I am done with it.

I wanted the exact item pictured, instead I was sent Braun's replacement for this item. The description matches but the part number and UPC's are different from the item listed. The new and improved pack does not work as good on my razor. I know this because I have already bought two of them this makes the third. I got 8 out of 12 and 2, empty, boxes that were suppost to have batteries in them, that I did'nt order. Shipping error??? You don't package empty boxes ........I know how to clean a razor but I'm a bit shaky since I turned into an "old guy" and I can relax while the razor is cleaned with this product.
